Custom Heatsink Fan Duct Mod (DQ6-TTBT) - Part 1By Greig MackenziePictorial guide on a custom Heatsink Fan Duct modification for Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 & ThermalTake Big Typhoon. Commentary to be inserted later. (See also,
Part 2: Custom DQ6/TTBT Heatsink Fan Duct Mod)
Concept (untested due to motherboard failure after completing this mod. UPDATE: Gigabyte advised a CPU socket pin was broken!!! I can't verify this, nor can I see how this could have occurred from the mod alone. Obviously something else has occurred here. Pets, falling objects, careless actions???): Direct outside ambient air directly to the HSF of the Big Typhoon and force air-flow through the DQ6's radiators and northbridge heatsink. NOTE: This is a prototype only. Final project to consist of more appropriate materials and improved quality and workmanship.
