Pictures, and a few words about a giga-quad, crazy-cool, big typhoon duo - Page 1By Greig Mackenzie(See also, Part 2: Custom DQ6/TTBT Heatsink Fan Duct Mod) Yes, a ThermalTake Big Typhoon (TTBT) can be fitted to a Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 without removing 'Crazy Cool'! This is how it goes...
Lapping the CPU and Heatsink (optional) 1. Intel Core Duo 6400 - L624A775
2.3.4. Lap (240grit showing high spots), lapping (240grit until 'all copper' surface), lapped (600-1000grit).
5. No longer disappointing, lapped TTBT. 6. Lapped TTBT & E6400
7. Mmmmm, that looks more like it. A 'TTBT' mirror finish (1000-1200grit + clogging 1200grit polishing).
TIP: I have read that beyond 600grit is counter-efficient. Bear this in mind, particularly if you are impatient, and more importantly, if you are more concerned with performance efficiency than seeing your face (or heat sink ;-) in your CPU's IHS. |
